The C-Suite Venture Fund will aim to increase and expedite the growth stage of maturing businesses to create long-term, billion-dollar companies. “Speed-ups”; are well established in their current market and ready to execute clear plans to expand their business. In this arena, we are more focused on the company’s proven track record, the size of market and competition, and their barriers to expansion.

The C-Suite Venture Fund’s portfolio will be dynamic and ultimately be composed of many companies. Many companies will exit and be replaced within the portfolio. As a result, the Management Team will continuously and extensively assess deal flow to reinvest over time, while utilizing the tax breaks and advantages throughout Qualified Opportunity Zones and providing substantial ROI for our investors.

The Opportunity Zone Advantage

Opportunity Zones are designed to provide potentially significant tax benefits to investors who re-invest capital gains into long-term investments into communities designated for economic development. They offer investors the ability to positively impact communities struggling to attract capital to generate sustainable economic opportunity for their community, while simultaneously deferring capital gains tax on realized gains if the gains are invested in a Qualified Opportunity Fund within 180 days of the sale.

Impacting Communities & Investors

Qualified Opportunity Zone Funds provide potential investors key tax advantages:

1) Temporary deferral of taxes on previously earned capital gains.

Investors can defer tax on any prior Capital Gains deposited into a Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund (QOF) for up to 5 years.

2) Permanent exclusion of taxable income on new gains.

After a required ten-year minimum term, the initial amount deposited plus all of the accrued interest derived from QOF property (real estate and business stock) can be withdrawn from the QOF 100% tax free.

PAUL PETERSON

Mr. Peterson’s experience in business development and management includes extensive work in early-stage investment, start-up, growth and ongoing management of small to mid-sized companies. From the tumultuous times of the dotcom era through today’s energy and biotech industry revolutions, Paul has been directly involved in the roles of director, officer, and investor in the start-up, development, merger, acquisition and turnaround of both private and publicly-traded companies across the spectrum. Paul has extensive hands-on experience in the areas of investment, securities, legal, accounting, HR, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and the tenacity essential to the success of any endeavor.

Paul received a full scholarship to the University of Minnesota through the US Air Force ROTC. While earning his undergraduate degree in languages and linguistics, he took a year as an exchange student at Moscow State University, and later earned a master’s degree in International Business from St. Thomas College (and in International Business Management from Kansai University of Foreign Studies in Osaka, Japan). He speaks, reads, and writes fluently in Japanese and Russian and is conversant in Mandarin. For twenty years, Mr. Peterson has been actively involved as an investor and advisor to startups and development stage companies, and in assisting the turnaround of troubled companies with focus on the development and integration of renewable energy technologies and biotech & biomedical solutions.

Tricia Benn is an Executive at the C-Suite Network and the General Manager of The Hero Club, a group of CEOs, founders, and investors who commit to a life balance of hard work while giving back to the communities in which they serve. Her responsibilities include leading teams across the organization, bringing in new partnerships and building new business models to monetize the growth and opportunity within these powerful communities.

Previously, Benn served as the Global Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer and US Managing Director within MDC Partners. Benn is an outcome-driven, solutions-driven executive leader with proven success in developing new businesses; leading through extensive enterprise-level changes and building motivated, engaged, and profitable teams.

KARL POST

Partner | Advisor

Karl Post brings many assets to C-Suite Network. His experience includes a distinguished background in public relations as the CEO of TallGrass, international franchising, business consulting and corporate business development. He worked in a variety of roles that included responsibilities for strategic relationships and partnerships, worldwide marketing, financial consulting and contract negotiations. Karl served as Vice President and officer of an international franchise printing organization operating three brands with over 900 locations in 23 countries. He was responsible for developing long-term strategic initiatives for the Franchisor and Franchise Networks. He evaluated customer/market requirements, competition and developing technologies and their impact on the industry.

In his work at Eastman Kodak in Worldwide Marketing and Corporate Business Development roles. His marketing responsibilities included developing Kodak vision and strategic direction for the B2B and B2C portfolio of products and services and their impact on profitable revenue and earnings growth. Karl also supported a team that was responsible for researching and identifying strategic investment opportunities for the company. Whether in business, the raising of his family or crossing the finish line in an Ironman Triathlon, Karl is focused, and determined to succeed.
